This is a home and school reading program that provides parents with the opportunity to be actively involved in their child’s education.  Not only will parent participation assist children to practice reading, but it will also strengthen the link between home and school.  The theme this year is Roar Into Reading / Dévorez des livre!  When students return their first completed reading sheet (available from the library) their name will be posted on the Reading Club bulletin board outside the library.  The student’s name will also be entered into draws for weekly and holiday prizes.

We encourage all the students in the school to participate in the program.  If a parent is unable to supervise a reading time with their child, they may make alternate arrangements such as a grandparent, aunt or uncle, or even an older sibling.  For younger students who may not be reading independently yet, the adult (or older sibling) can be the reader – it all counts!  We do ask that an adult initial the reading sheet.  For more information regarding the program, you may e-mail Mme Shoemaker or Mrs. Fields.  Happy Reading!!
